I have a few very simple questions for you :)

1) What university? When? (College applies if you're from USA)

2) What subjects did you study?

3) How long were the lectures?

4) And did you get any breaks during lectures

Thank you! IF you want to add more detail and survival tips, then I would greatly appreciate it, but you don't have to.

  1. I went to ASU-Beebe from 2006 to 2008. I studied history, english, math, art history, sociology, psychology.....my lecture were about 50 minutes long on Monday Wednesdays and Fridays but on Tuesday and Thursdays my classes were an hour and a half because they were only twice a week. If we had to go to the bathroom we could just get up and go unless it was during a test in some classes. My advice would be to just get plenty of sleep during the week and party on the weekends......trust me! If your staying on campus, make friends, it will help and keep you from getting bored or lonely. Good Luck!

  2. I am currently a third year a college student at California State University of Fullerton, and I am a history major, but have just finished my General Education classes.  So I have taken history, english, math, science, and a whole bunch of others too.  My freshman year I went to school 3 days a week and the classes were 50 minutes long.  My Sophomore year I went to school 2 days a week and the classes were 1hr and 15min long.  I have take 2 classes that were one day a week classes that were 2hr and 45 min long and both professors gave 15 breaks during each class.  I do not live on campus, I am a commuter, so I do not have any on campus tips.  I just go to take my classes and leave, I like it.

  3. 1) I'm still at university (in the UK), I graduate in 2009. University of Brighton but I was at Bristol before that, I hated it there.

    2) I'm about to start my third year of an English Language and Linguistics degree. I did change to Literature in my 2nd year but realized I didn't enjoy it and went back to English Language and Linguistics.

    3) All my lectures and seminars are an hour and a half and I had 6 classes a week last term.

    4) No breaks during lectures but we can go to the toilet anytime we want without asking for permission.

Survival tips: Don't be in a rush to make friends too much or too soon, otherwise you'll spend the rest of your time at university trying to get rid of them. It's better to have a small circle of friends that you have things in common with. Get involved in the university societies and clubs.

  4. 1) University of Toronto: St. George Campus. Freshman.

    2) Commerce

    3) We have lectures as long as 3 hours and as short as 1 hour.

    4) Yup, I usually have a break after each lecture, and I NEVER have more than 3 hours in a row.
