well, I saw it yesterday for the first time, and i think i'm missing something here.. what did they do to Mac (jack nicholson)? You know.. at the end he came in with the scar on his forehead and the big indian guy killed him?

yh it was some lobotomy thing. i didnt really understand why the indian dude killed him, but then he looked dead anyway so iguess thats why he done it, it was really sad :( good film tho

They gave him a lobotomy.  The Indian guy killed him to pretty much put him out of that situation because its no way to live.  Was glad indian guy left also.

Like everyone said .. it was a labotomy .. it was such a sad part .. especially when his Indian friend killed him. He did it because he knew he was practically dead anyway and didn't want to see him live his life like that. I cried so hard watchin him smother him like that but I knew it was with good intention.
