Who here has worked at Mc Donald's?

Question

I LOVE their fish filet sandwiches, it's the shiny bun with the really yummy warm tarter sauce. Just wondering if you've worked there what kind of tarter sauce is it and what kind of buns do they make them on?

Mike R hit the answer perfectly, as a former manager I learned some secrets and relish is one of the secret ingredients, don't know about thousand island as ingredient, but I know the relish is one of the secrets.  The buns are made special with sugar in them so they have that super soft texture and great taste

i use work there back in 1998. from all i remember....the fish fillet comes frozen in a box and the tater sauce comes in a bag and filled up in a contiaer...and the buns come in a bag. i don't remember them ever making them. buns and food are all proccessed in a McDonald plant or someone who contracted by them to make it.

worked at Mickey Dees many yrs ago, dont know how much has changed. Here goes:

1. Mc D Tartar sauce is made with usual ingredients that are found in tart sauce-egg whites, vinegar, mayonaise. In addition mCD uses a "secret" ingred, always came in sealed cans labled SECRET INGREDIENT" my opioin is it was pickle relish+ a little thousand island dressing.This secret ingr had to be mixed w/ other stuff.

2. McDonalds buns used to be made (maybe still are) at thier own factories. The secret is the large amount of sugar mixed in with the flour. That affects the rising yeast, makes the bun real shiny and sweet tasting.  Hopes this answers your q

The thing about Mcdonalds is they package all of their own sauces and buns, its from a company called Express foods, its just a mass supplier of restaraunt products. . .at least the one that i worked at did. . . you know the best foods tartar sauce, the one that in like a mayo jar tastes a lot like it, if you want something that tastes really close to it. . .sorry its mcdonalds own tartar and buns, you cant buy it in stores.

The tartar saue is just a special McDonalds sauce...but I agree....it's AWESOME!! I've never had any quite so good!! The bun is just a cheeseburger bun, but it's been steamed.
