  1. its no big deal your mouse works

  2. I do.  Horse racing and riding are two different things.  ANY time a question is not in the correct category it ticks me off.  It only shows the mental capacity of the person asking the question.

  3. First of all, the pets section DOES have a column for horses. Second, I don't think it matters all that much where people post questions about horses- and riding and horse racing ARE related to each other, because they both involve horses !!! When I first joined YA earlier this year, the Horses column in the pets section didn't exist- and it took an enormous amount of badgering on the part of non-racing horse lovers before we were finally given a section of our own. I was one of many hundreds of respondents who kept badgering YA for such a column. Until they finally decided to act, this WAS THE ONLY PLACE anyone who had a horse related question could ask it !!  So, Old School, just because someone asks a riding related question here doesn't mean they are stupid. They may be new to YA and may not even know that there is another column available yet. To simply call such a person stupid is unfair to them and an insult to YA. I dislike hearing the nagging about questions in the wrong category as much as anyone, but where possible, I try to gently remind the asker of the error of their ways. I have seen a mighty strange question in the horseracing section only this morning in fact- someone was asking about a type of hurdle that is used in the sport of Track and Field, not racing. Obviously, such a question has no place here- we can't answer it- but it doesn't mean the asker is stupid. I did what I have always tried to do in a situation like that- I pointed out the error to the asker in a polite way. It's not a CRIME to ask a question in the wrong place, folks. Just my thinking.

  4. There is a horse section in the pets category. Actually, in order for people to find the answers they want to read and answer it improves things for everyone if questions are in their proper category. You'll get more replies and better responses to your questions if people can find them where they expect to. The people reading the horse racing section do not necessarily ride horses or know anything about riding in other equestrian disciplines. Horse racing is definitely not the same as riding or showing horses. Furthermore, it is technically a violation of Yahoo Answers community guidelines to post a question in an incorrect category. I am not rude but I do post a reply telling the person they are in the wrong category when I see it. I understand they may be new or not know about the Pets>Horse section.
