Who here is against euthanasia?

this is a very controversial topic.. the idea of euthanasia. i am personally for it, even though i dont think i would opt for it myself, but i think if someone wants to die with dignity then thats their choice and they should be allowed to do so.

if u are against it, what are your reasons for it?

   I  don't  know  how  I  would  feel,  I  watch  my  mother die of breast  cancer,  and she  did suffer,,but  the  Dr. sent morphine

  home  with us  and we kept  her comfortable ,but it could  have  

  helped  her go  home,,we will never  know.

How about this:  No CPR if a person is that bad.  That at least is not murder.  Then again if I was in a state where euthanasia was to be even thought about for me then I would expect my husband to make an intelligent decision with the Lord and the doctor treating me.

I'm for voluntary euthanasia, I've watched too many family members fight and suffer through cancer, I'm not going that way.

What you are describing is assisted suicide, not euthanasia. Euthanasia literally mean "mercy killing" and means killing those who can't decide for themselves e.g those who are severely disabled, those who are born with a condition which means they will die shortly,etc, etc.

Voluntary euthanasia is an oxymoron.

It doesn't matter what I think about it.  God chooses when life ends not me.  Those who are for euthanasia don't know anything about the pedagogical dimension of human suffering.  There is much ignorance in modern culture about this topic.  People don't see how suffering can be redemptive because we have been so secularized.

Not me, i think if your going to die a horrible painful death, with no quality of life then you should be able to chose to die in dignity...

Watching someone you love suffer in pain and agony has got to be the second worst experience in life.  Being the person suffering in pain in agony has to be the worst.  

The only option we have right now is hospice.

For a minute there, I thought you were referring to animals in the shelter.  I didn't know they had this option for people.  I have to think about that because to me it sounds like suicide, legal but still suicide.  Life should end when God ends it but like I said, I have to think about that because you never know how you truly you feel unless you are in that situation.  If I think about my Grandmother who died from cancer, and remember how she suffered, it might have been a good idea for euthanasia but it is still suicide.

Against it, no human has the right or moral authority to take the life of another person if it is not to save another life.

Just don't expect that third party to actually help you. I say that because I'm sure someone somewhere will either think about or actually sue the person that didn't assist them in suicide.
