When I was five I first played football with the Auskick roster which I was in for two years. Then I went up for the South Launceston Bulldogs to play in their U-11 side when I was just eight. Those games were just 1/3 of the field with no scoring and was just fun. After three years in that my age group finally went up to U-12 where the serious stuff started. We finally played full ground and tackling was allowed. We only lost one game for the season and won the Grand Final convincingly by 50 points. The next year we were U-13 and some of the clubs had caught up to our ability and at the end of our Home and Away season we were 10 wins and 5 losses. We got through to the Grand Final and won by 19 points. The following year in U-14's we lost only three games for the whole year and we won the Grand Final by 3 points with me happily getting best on ground, my best performance of the year. Then the real challenge game with two rough years of U-16's against people alot bigger and older than us. Our first year seeming as the competitiong was alot mature than us we were happy to just fall out of the top 8 with 9th position. The following year we were the older of the U-16 comp and we didnt lose one game at all and easily won the premiership by 36 points. I then played on year in the top U-19 team where we lost the Grand Final by 9 points then I was recruited into the fabled Reserves team. I played two good years in the Reserves winning one out of the two Grand Finals we played in then I was chosen to play at the top of South Launnie with the Seniors team where I am currently at for my second year.

My son is playing in the under 10's with the Murgon Mustangs junior rugby league. It's his 3rd year with them & he loves it.
