McCain will be 80 years old if he serves two terms. Will he have to be wheeled around like John Paul II?

How important is a sense of vitality in a leader to other nations?

  1. No, he is NOT too old.

In China, Russia and many other countries, their leaders ARE VERY OLD folks.

FDR was young; many Presidents (including Reagan) were physically incapable of carrying on the duties of the President of the United States but their wife or someone else "filled in for them".

There is no reason to believe he would have to be wheeled around; Obama, because of his lifestyle is just as likely to need to be "wheeled" around.

  2. FDR spent his entire presidency in a wheelchair.

McCain is much more healthy than FDR.

  3. Age isn't a factor. Its his political stance and flip flopping pandering. McCain would ensure a third term of Bush's failed policies. McCain is out of touch with the temperature of this country's economical and social footprint. I strongly disagree with his views regarding the Iraq War. I find him  to be a turn off with the lobbyist he surrounds himself with including those who advise him inside his campaign.

  4. I wouldn't say so absolutely but his age does concern me.  Particularly so given our experience with Ronald Reagan late in his second term.

  5. As long as he doesn't come down with something like Alzheimers, older is better. It means more wisdom and experience. He's seen what works and what doesn't. There is a risk, though, so the VPs got to be up to par.

As far as "vitality in a leader to other nations," other countries respect age, unlike many youth-worshiping Americans.

  6. i am concered, isnt he pushing 80? we dont want someone senile and subborn to be there messing things up. even though things are pretty bad right now..we need someone with fresh ideas, and someone who will be willing to fix the old government we have had for years.

  7. He might be getting older, and there is a good chance of him getting sick or dying within a two term presidency. That's why it is important to always carefully consider the VP.

One term wouldn't be worrisome as far as age goes.

  8. yes to old he is constantly getting confused flip flopping on major issues he is always stuttering and bumbling and stumbling with hes speeches  obama08

  9. Me

  10. Vitality is less important in a leader than is experience.   He wouldnt be the first US President who got by very well in spite of a wheelchair.  Wasnt it Truman? maybe I'm worng but someone in that era.

Obama is truly an untested and unknown quantity.  That can be good but in can be very bad too.

My view from North of 49 parallel anyways

  11. In this day and age, 70 is not old.  People live a lot longer now and with age comes wisdom!

  12. Who here thinks Obama is too black to be president?

What the h**l kind of question is that? Age, race, whatever. Its all just a red herring. Don't confuse everyone.
