  1. I think they hit equally hard.  Who is going to step up out of this forum to find out?

  2. Foreman hit harder.

Marciano wore oponents down, especially at higher level and took longer to KO then. Foreman for me had better one punch power.

Please check out my questions, im a boxing seller/trader and the cheapest on the net. www.freewebs.com/knockoutdvds

  3. According to this expert's opinion, it was Foreman.

  4. George Forman punches harder than All the heavyweight champions.  Overall, there isn't a champion who punches harder.

Rocky MIGHT be the hardest  "Pound for Pound", meaning he punches harder for a 188lb man than Forman does for 230.   But that is meaningless with heavyweights.  Because all Hvt. are not the same size that is pointless.  ALso,  Marciano knocked out smaller, weaker men than did Forman.

The same holds true for Dempsey who only has a good KO% because there was no standing 8 count during his time, until just before the Tunney fight.  So much of Dempsey's career was choriographed and he was more protected than people realize.  It's hard to tell if he was really as good as people say.

Some others are in George's class but he has the top spot to himself.  Harder than Liston, Tyson, Klitschko, Lewis, Louis, Dempsey and, yes, George Forman punches harder than Rocky Marciano and any other heavyweight champion.

    Period.

  5. foreman punched harder, and if you look at his kayo's (post comeback particularly), he seemed to not put much leverage in his ko punches (see michael moorer).

  6. Rocky Marciano weighed 188 pounds. George Foreman might have been 230-240. You'd think George would have a big edge because of that, not to mention the benefits of weight training.

  7. without a dought george foreman no disrespect to marciano he did hit hard but george foreman was perhaps the hardest hitter in boxing history i mean number 1

  8. Marciano was a grinder/pressure fighter. He grinded you down, hitting the body, arms so eventually a fighter couldn't even lift his arms up.

Foreman clubbed opponents with his baseball fists, and to tell you the kind of strength he had, he usually knock a guy out at close range. Meaning, he didn't need a long wind-up, or long arms to build maximum velocity, which usually standard with punchers. Like Wlad can punch hard, but he's got to be at the right distance. But like Tyson, George could knock you out at close range.

To get an idea of the kind of power Foreman had, he had 33 knockouts inside of the first 2 rounds, and combined 46 knockouts that were 3 rounds or less.

Both Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis stated they never saw a HW as strong or as powerful as Big George.

  9. george hands down.

  10. Foreman could hit harder for a couple of rounds and then p**p out. Marciano could swing as hard as he could on every punch for 15 straight rounds.

  11. Foreman would club you with those sweeping punches of his but lacked stamina to keep it up after 7-8 rounds.  Marciano hurt you wherever he hit you and could do it for the entire 15 rounds.  The difference between these two is stamina and Marciano had a lot of it.

Power advantage rounds 1-7  George Foreman

Power advantage rounds 8-15 Marciano easily.

  12. Like to have seen Theodore 'Teddy's Atlas's face when Tyson threatened to break his jaw a few years ago or when he does get close and sparks the middleclass fagxott right out!!

  13. Truth be told, this really isnt a fair question.

I knew these brothers who were twins...they were both 6'5, both weighed 240 lbs coming out of high school. You would think they could be pro football players or wrestlers, but they were just BIG GUYS.

There really isnt a wrong answer to this. Albert is right in the respect that yes..Marciano ALWAYS did more damage to his opponents. But that was because he did have an unreal training regimen so that he could throw each punch for fifteen pounds with the force a baseball pitcher throws a fastball...he threw everything he had into every punch.

Consequently, Foreman didnt do as much damage to people because they werent around as long. Getting hit by Foreman is like being playfully swatted by a bear. It doesnt matter if he meant to hurt you, your still concussed. Foreman genetically was SO MUCH STRONGER than the average human being...that he playfully overate in front of cameras..showed up overweight...and still won the heavyweight championship...by knockout...twenty years later. He didnt NEED the workrate...he didnt need the damage..he just needed the opening.

  14. IMO, Foreman hit harder. While Rocky had a great right hand, Foreman hit harder with both hands. Many of Foreman's punchers were wild, wide, looping shots and they certainly were not pretty, but very affective. Rocky did more damage with a short "Suzy Q" right hand and also utilized an affective overhand right and nice left hook. Foreman, IMO was the more deadly one punch fighter. Yes, Rocky KO'd Wallcott with a single right hand, but overall, used many clubbing punchers to wear down his opponent.
