Yes he was a catcher in the 1930's for the Homestead Grays and Pittsburgh Crawfords (Negro League clubs), 900 estimated home runs!

  1. Babe Ruth had 1 career minor league home run. Aaron had 31. Bonds had 20. So Oh is the leader unless some Negr0 League stats are revealed somehow.

  2. Career - Sadaharu Oh (Japan) 868 Hrs

    Season  - Barry Bonds - 73 (USA)

  3. Josh Gibson. They have him down for around 800 homeruns but not all were counted do to lack of record keeping.

  4. Some cat in Bemidji, Minn. named Toby Gutland hit 1,378 homers during his legendary career.

  5. I know that Sadahura Oh had 868 HR's, but to compare it fully we ought to add minor league HR's to Bonds and Aaron to compare.  I say that because we don't recognize Japanese statistics on the same level as MLB.  When players come here we discard their Japan stats and make them rookies, eligible for ROTY.

I don't know either of their minors totals, but i suspect that they were less than the 100 or so that would be needed to eclipse Oh.
