Who honestly thinks we can stop Global Warming?

By a show of hands (or answers), who believes any of our world leaders or people in general have the initiative to stop Global Warming, by changing our habits as a whole?

We can NOT stop a natural occurrence from happening!

We CAN stop the abuse by a simple understanding of some 'Basic Science'!

There are many things which man should be doing to be more environmentally friendly, but nothing that we as humans could do would have any impact on a 'Global Scale!

Your 'World Leaders' are simply part of a complete 'Circle Jerk'!

The ONLY way to dispel a myth, is by education!

I'm not a Scientist or a Politician.  My thoughts are what's done is done and it can't be reversed.  The question is then "Can we as a society learn from our mistakes?".  I certainly hope so...we are so very wasteful and we are using this planet as a garbage dump and using up the natural resources at a fast clip.

No we can't stop global warming. I'm not even convinced we can stop the CO2 in our atmosphere from increasing.

I support the warming of our globe! as you all know earth can get rather chilly, and since the suns going to explode anyway- we will need it pretty hot to survive all that vacume once it does. And besides its the polar bears fault for not getting a summer home in Miami, if they go extinct, thats just one less animal to remove when we're oil drilling.

With the major contributor being fossil fuels you may be seeing a shift at work right now. Oil companies know the end is within 25 years and they are now running record profits. Over the years they have bought up all the technology that comes out to stop burning fossil fuels and use environmental friendly alternatives.

Its a combo of the Oil Companies, car manufactures and our elected officials pressured (lobbiest bribes) to continue the use of these fuels.

You see the government cant tax air, water and solar energy (get my drift) so it will be a long time coming.

I would suggest everyone watch the documentary "Who killed the electric car" and you could base this on all the greed that is hindering

the bringing about of these technologies. (the internal combustion engine is over 175 years old for crying out loud and we put a man on the moon in 1969)

Its "GREED" / "POWER" and  influencence that is problem stopping the chance for a turnaround against global warming and lets not forget the pollution that is killing us all.

changing our habits is a good thing. weather it can stop global warming or not, we will never know. however the planet had been threw catastrophic disasters before and has repaired itself. we may not be here to see it tho.

I do not believe it can be stopped, but we SHOULD work to reduce our impact on global warming.  Regardless of human interaction, the earth has it's own heating and cooling cycle that goes on.

That is why there have been multiple ice ages, and in between each of those was a time of global warming.

It is a proven fact that politicians and lawyers only make the mess worse and the eventual cleanup more costly because they want quick sound good fixes. Turn the job over to knowledgeable scientific and engineering people and you will have a practical function job in short order.

JFK gave a consortium of scientists and engineering people the job of getting men to the moon in ten years with no other stipulations, look what happened they beat the deadline under budget and invented the basis for the commercial revolution of the 80s. Jimmy Carter took the job of the continuing development of space away from the engineering people and turned it over to politicians and lawyers and we are still about where we were in space when Richard Nixon left office.

Bert Rutan and Virgin Records will probably get back to the moon with an effective operational program turning a profit before NASA under political control does.

It might HELP stop global warming. But we might not be able to repair the   damages we have inflicted on the environment. Try to help by recycling, using fluorescent light bulbs, saving electricity and water, buying a fuel efficient, hybrid, hydrogen fuel cell, or electric cars, etc. If we all work together, we might be able to make a difference. None of our current leaders are taking initiative. I do not have serious political views, but I believe that Obama has a great energy policy.

i sure think v can stop global warming but dat is not going 2 come from just a few leaders hosting a meet every now n then.....

it can be stopped only if v ( d whole world) works together and cuts down on CO 2 emissions, Garbage n other harmful things
