  1. Call a good local independent agent.  Honestly, I would try Progressive. You can look them up in the yellow pages & it should have local agents that use them.  They seem to have the best rates when people have multiple incidents on their records.  That is what I have found.  Be sure you have your current policy in front of you when you get new quotes to be sure you are getting the exact same coverage.

Be sure you are getting liability only, but be sure you have a good liability limit because you seem to be accident prone & you want to be sure you have enough coverage to cover others bodily injury & property damage in the event you have an at fault accident.

It may be to your benefit to take a defensive driving class.  It will tell you things to do to avoid accidents (even how to avoid not at fault accidents).  Just remember, drive like the other party will ALWAYS do something wrong.  Expect people to pull out in front of you, expect people to cut you off, run red lights, run stop signs, speed, etc.  Expect them not to turn when they say they are going to.

  2. your best bet is All State

    they've got accident forgiveness

that's All State's Stand, are you in good hands?

  3. Michigan as in other states allows you to file an SR22 form for insurance. That means you can be self insured if you can prove you have at least $5,000.00 is assets to pay up if you have an at fault crash. That way you might only pay as little as $50.00 a month. Be careful though. You would be taking on a big responsibility by doing this. If you have an at fault wreck they can come after anything of value you owe past the $5,000.00.

  4. Check with progressive I went from AAA to Progressive and saved alomost a $100 a month. I also do have a clean record so I am sure that helped. It would not hurt trying anyway.

  5. First u need to know what ur present policy limits r to compare prices.  It's not only about cost but what type of protection ur being provided.  Every state has a Insurance commission and most are on the web.  Find a listing of providers and get quotes.

As for it's not ur fault for 3 accidents, the insurance industry doesn't look at it that way.  There are so many variables, age of driver, your driving record, accident conditions, wheither ur were charged by lawenforcement or issued tickets... etc  Now if the three crashes weren't ur fault, u were hit by other drivers then u might have alittle more leverage. Otherwise, u got to accept responsiblity and get high risk coverage thru ur state insurance commission should be able to provide listing of choices. U'll probably pay through the nose for the most basic of ur state limits for at least the next 3+ yrs.

Some states if u go to driving school and pass they will reduce the number of points on ur license and possibly with the insurance company.  It's time to slow down, be proactive, and do what your state requires to get points and cost down. Good luck.

  6. Well, having that many car accidents will always cause your rates to increase, but there are a couple things you can do to get the cheapest insurance posslble.

First, it's good that you are trying to insure a cheaper vehicle because that in itself will get you a lower rate.  Check with the insurance companies you have gotten to see if they offer any special discounts.  Are you a student?  There are lots of companies that will give student discounts.

It seems that you are taking the right approach by getting multiple quotes.  Doing your research is the single best way to get cheaper auto insurance.  The website below is a really great resource because it allows you to compare quotes for all the insurance companies in your area by simply entering in your zip code. It was really helpful for me when I was looking for new insurance coverage.

    Hope this helps! Good Luck!
