  1. My sons have got a number of star wild cards between them and one of my boys has got a whole shelf on his large bookcase filled with footy card albums that are full or near full! He also collects tazos, stickers and chipz and has been collecting since he was 5 years old (he is now almost 15). The first cards he collected were the 2000 Teamcoach set that fit in a large 3 ring binder. He has also got a Tony Lockett teamcoach card that 'Plugger" personally signed for him!

I used to collect Scanlens footy stickers when I was a kid, I liked the chewing gum that came with them!

  2. I used to when i was kid, had complete sets from 69, 70, 71,72,73,74, then we moved to Tassie for about 3 months, lost em all in the move.

They used to make a picture on the back like a jigsaw of the the previous years grand final.

They would of been worth heaps, hope some bugger is looking after them, mongrels.

  3. My brother used to collect Footy cards and it caught on with myself as well. Most of our footy cards are from the 90's.. I don't remember the exact collections or anything. I think they were 'select' brand.. and they used to cost a bit as well.

Also used to collect footy stickers as well.. and we have a few complete sticker books along with a complete set of footy cards or two.

I remember at t he height of it all, I was trading my 'swaps' with mates from school to complete my sets!!

That would've been around grade1 and 2.. which was when I was 6-7 years old!! aaah... Those were the days ^-^

What RARE cards do I have?

I have an uncut sheet of (either 1995 or 1996) 'select' Football Cards. I don't remember if it's a complete set or not. I won it somewhere.. but again, it was that long ago that I don't remember what or exactly how.

Last year I was doing work experience at a newsagency and a rep for a footy cards company told me that it would be worth around $200 today :D
