Actually, although it would be an unpopular answer, Hitler.

He wasn't a "great" leader in that he did GOOD things (obviously), but the leadership skills that he had were unsurpassed! For the record, I'm NOT supporting him, merely pointing out that he possessed some of the best leadership skills of any man who ever lived. One man convinced several countries to follow his ideas, murder millions and start the biggest war in history!
