Rocky went to the movies and saw Ali beat up Chuckie and ran home and made a movie about Sylvester winning the title bla bla bla.............

    .

    .

    .

Wait a minnit.  Sylvester was the one who wrote the story and Rocky was the one who fought.

    yea, sumtin like dat

  6. chuck wepner. a white man who went the distance against ali when he should'nt have

  7. the original rocky

  8. Check Wepner. He was a gutty, journeyman Heavywieght, in the late 1960's, early 1970's. I believe had one shot at the Heavyweight title agaisnt Muhammad Ali. In this fight he lasted the whole 15 in the bout in a losing effort.

  9. The inspiration for the character of Rocky Balboa was the fight between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner.  Ali was the defending champ while Wepner was the journeyman heavyweight who no one thought could last the whole 15 rounds with Ali.  Wepner did better than everyone thought he would, even putting Ali down (although it may have been partly because of a trip) and he made it to the 15th round, but was stopped in the final 20 seconds.  Sylvester Stallone has stated that the inspiration for "Rocky" came after watching this fight.

  10. Chuck Wepner.

A historical footnote should mention that the "The Italian Stallion" character was also portrayed by Stallone in a movie of another type and quality, years before "Rocky".
