    In most common elevators the elevators are lifted by ropes and pulley. Ropes are pulled by electric motor. The revolution and speed of the electrical motor is controlled by microcontrolers. It gives the motor proper electrical signals about where to stop and where the speed should be higher or lower.

    A motor turns and winds a cable around a drum. The cable runs up to a pulley on top of the shaft, then down to the elevator cabin, where it is attached.
