and where did it came from what country was the first to start teaching exercise or physical fitness.

  1. Your going too far back, thats like asking who invented f**t jokes, its an ancient custom from all peoples. Fro modenr exercise advice using ancient methods get the book Never Gymless, you will find exercises in ther used by Spartans, Ancient Hindi Wrestlers and even exercises dating back to pre-history. Everything you need. Also Various cultures had various tests of strength. On the british isle it was stone lifitng. In india also stone lifting but these were shaped.

      Basically no one knows. But the most anceint forms, (which are found in Never Gymless) are running ike a tiger is after your tasty bum. Climbing like a mother boar is bent on goaring you and swimming as if a pack of wolves are about to hamstring you. So for the most ancient fitness you can attain, eat only foods that can be hunted and gathered ( not neccessary but eat all natural) climb rcok walls and ropes and trees. Run distance and sprints...lots of sprints. And swim across rivers with strong currents, or in pool as hard as you can. Also hiking with a pack is probably condusive to how ancient man kept his strength. If you want some bronze age fitness. Get behind a horse and push a plow, lifts heavy odd objects simulating farm work ,and smash and bend metal like a black smith. Also lift heavy beams and use ancient hand tools on wood liek a carpenter. Drill holes with a hand drill (ancient variety) and than pound in nails or wooden pegs with hammer. Also cut with hand saw and chop down the trees for the wood with hand axe and saw. Moving further along you can simulate the strength from most any age. From primitive mans need to run fats and climb high, to bronze age man's need for strength to manipulate the elements around him, all the way to information age mans need to get a s**y physique so they can have a visually appelaing partner, and satisfy their need to overpopulate planet with souless brats.

    Oh and for ancient warriors fitness do a lot of calisthenics with heavy bronze armor on and swing heavy *** sowrds all day with a shield on your other arm whether you are running or whatever. Also fight all the time with other warriors. If your firnd snags a bite of your wendy's chicken salad get up and front kick him on the face. Than slug it out to keep your instinct honed for battle.

    I think it started in Greece as an athlethic achievement of sorts.
