to the guy above me, he's asking about football, not soccer. to answer the question, football wasn't really 'invented', it kind of evolved from soccer and rugby. walter camp was credited with innovating the forward pass and developeing the modern game of football in the 1870s. the first game was an ivy leauge college game, i can't think of the 2 schools right now.
