  5. No, Meat Loaf Fan, that was Terry Nation. The man who thought up the sonic screwdriver was Victor Pemberton.

  6. The Timelords.  As for the first appearance of a sonic screwdriver, this appeared with Patrick troughton (Doctor 2) but was mainly used by Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker (Dr's 3 and 4) and was destroyed by the Cybermen in Earthshock (Peter Davidson episode (Dr 5)), resurected with the new Dr Who
