We have to change something at the beginning of each year for our health, for someone or just for the heck of it, why? Who started it?

  1. His name was John.

His friends and parents were nagging him all year saying "Why dont you do anything? Ugh you're toenails are disgusting! Why dont you loose weight!!"

So one day after christmas, John decided to invent this tradition so he could pretend to do something about his life but not in reality.

And thats why it was created, so we appear to take charge of our very flawed lives.

    Actually....

The Babylonians celebrated New Years Day over four thousand years ago, although their celebration was in March rather than in January, coinciding with the spring planting of crops.

The New Year, no matter when people have celebrated it, has always been a time for looking back to the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year. It's time to reflect on the changes we want, or often need, if we're to have the motivation move forward. Resolutions are a reflection of the Babylonians' belief that what a person does on the first day of the New Year will have an effect throughout the entire year. Think about that at the New Year's party!

That was a copy and paste jobby... http://www.developingteachers.com/plans/...

  2. I know about it cause I watched a lot of T.V

  3. Everyone else has it wrong. I think it must have been started by me mum the year of my birth. I was born in November, by Christmas she had had enough of me, and by new year's eve resolved to not have another cheeky little baby like me!

"This Cheeky Lad only gets worse by the passing years!''
