    Trumpet !  Qwerty is NOT a person.  It's the first 6 letters on the top row.  Argggh.

    Thank you for editing your answer Trumpet.  Now it makes some sense.  It's still wong, but it makes sense.  The question is "Who invented the COMPUTER keyboard?"  not typewriter keyboard.

  2. pretty much what the guy said above, theough a guy named Dvorak ahs made a keybaord wiht an arrangmebnt specifiaclly for the PC ( theres no needto have keys stopping fomr jamming ona PC liek on typewriter.

    Intresting fact of the day - as a marketing ploy the made it so you cna write typewriter using only the top row.

Christopher Sholes invented the keyboard but it was made for the typewriter.  He put the most used letters on the middle row from left to right then the next most used letters on the top row (including is name at the top right part of the keyboard) and finally the least used letters at the bottom of the keyboard.
