  1. The inventor of the kite is Johnny Appleseed. You may know him for his apple-seeding trait, but after the first state he crossed, he wanted something clever that made his journey more fun. He made a (basically) prototype of our modern kite. It was made from a long string attatched to thick pieces of paper. It wasn't good, but for a person who didn't go to school, it got the job done.

    Hope that helped!

  2. my guess is someone near the time when Benjamen Franklin was around. You know, with the key and the kite in the thunder storm.

  3. Some researchers hold that approximately 3000 years ago the kite was first invented and popularized in China, where materials ideal for kite building were readily available: silk fabric for sail material, fine, high-tensile-strength silk for flying line, and resilient bamboo for a strong, lightweight framework.

  4. The Chinese.

  5. george webster

  6. Too bad no one knows who invented the kites.
