  1. Obviously some prat who thought he was talking down to an audience of idiots.

I mean, who thought up "two little ducks, twenty two"?

My guess is that the reason all this nonsense came about is to give the bingo players a chance to find a called number on their card[s].  Otherwise, why not just read out the numbers as they appear, 1,22,33,97 etc.  Don't give much chance does it....??

  2. lol somebody with a brain and a lot of time on there hands.

  3. I dont know if anyone in particular invented the names/phrases for bingo.  They just sort of came to life, if you will and then alot of people started using them.  Now it seems that the name thing of bingo is phasing out and they are going with just the numbers again.   There are alot of websites out there that will give you info on all the different names there are for each number.  There isnt just one name for each number, if that is what you are trying to ask.

  4. Many of the number's names and phrases are based on rhyming slang like that spoken in the East End of London.

Some are based on the shape of the numbers themselves.

Others are from songs/ army slang / the bible / horse racing /  the rules of the road /darts / food / golf / t.v. etc. etc.
