  1. I don't know but basically it probably came from someone who liked to swim in streams, lakes, ponds, or the ocean. Maybe it was an accident..who knows?

  4. The first pools were known as "baths." They began with the early Greeks, Romans, and Turks. They basically ran on gravity with fresh water flowing in through aqueducts and older water slowly draining out through holes in the sides and floors. The first real recreational swimming pools primarily started in England.
