The history of the X-Ray dates back to 1876 when physicist Johann Hitorf observed tubes with energy rays extending from a negative electrode. Of course, inventions always start from somewhere but the real invention in itself is more of what is discussed about. Contemporary encyclopedias will state that Wilhelm Röntgen created the X-Ray. Wilhelm Röntgen made a report known as the "On a new kind of ray: A preliminary communication", of which he listed what X-rays were, with the "X" denoting that the form of radiation was unknown. He submitted the report to Würzburg's Physical-Medical Society journal and received the Nobel Peace prize for his discovery.
