Ganguly is a better one day player

Ponting is a better test player

Ponting is one of the best players of short fast bowling, where as ganguly has improved a lot, but he still finds short bowling uncomfortable sometimes.

Ganguly is one of the best players of spin, where as ponting struggles quite a bit, especially against offspin.

Ponting also struggles a lot when the ball is pitched up, where as gangulys natural timing takes over.

ganguly is a more ruthless captain and a much better bowler.

But ponting is miles ahead on feilding.

Ganguly may hit a lot of boundaries, but he is pathetic at rotating strike, something ponting is brilliant at.

Because test is more important than one dayers, and because the gap in test for both is fairly big, i will say ponting is overall better

Ponting although in a bit of a form slump ATM is by far superior to gangerz in very way possible. Co-ordination, talent leadership and lets face it gangerz looks down on and underestimates every bowler he faces. The only two things ganguly has over ponting is his bowling ability and bad leadership

In Bowling ganguly is far better than Ponting

In Fielding Again RIcky is better than Ganguly, Ricky is one of the best fielders in the world where ganguly is worst.

In Six Hitting saurav is slightly ahead of Ricky and In striking Fours both are equal but ponting is bit more stylish.

OfCourse Ricky is better captain he took Australia to 2 WOrld Cup victories and has performed well with the bat since becoming captain.

Lookz wise I can't comment much I'll leave it to female fans for me they both looks fine.

Ricky Ponting has done more for Australia he has been backbone of Australian Batting Order and his inning in 2003 World Cup single handedly won Australia World Cup.

10]Overall,who is the BEST? The better of the 2  is dada-Sourav Ganguly, not only because of his cricketing skills, but because of his commitment and agression. Ricky is not much far behind though. Infact, there is only a marginal difference between these 2 legends, but dada rocks.
