Dr William Buckland DD (Axminster, 12 March 1784 – Islip, 14 August 1856) was an English geologist, palaeontologist and Dean of Westminster, who wrote the first full account of a fossil dinosaur. He was a proponent of Old Earth creationism, who later became convinced by the glaciation theory of Louis Agassiz.
