  1. Charles I's father was King james I of england and VI of Scotland.  His mother was Anne of Denmark.

  2. Charles I was born in 1600, the second son of James I and Anne of Denmark. After several unsuccessful attempts at arranging a marriage, Charles married the 15 year-old daughter of France's King Henry IV, Henrietta Maria. Three years of coldness and indifference ensued, but the pair finally became devoted to each other, producing four sons (Charles [who died as a teenager], Charles [who became Charles II], James and Henry) and five daughters (Mary, Elizabeth, Anne, Catherine and Henrietta Anne). Charles I was executed for treason in 1649.

  3. There have been seven kings known as Charles I.

    (1) Charles I, Holy Roman Emperor (742-814)

    (2) Charles I of England, Scotland, and Ireland (1600-1649) (3)  Charles I of Spain (also known as Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, Holy Roman Emperor) (1500-1558)

    (4)  Charles I of Romania (1839-1914)

    (5)  Charles I of Sicily (1226-1285)

    (6) Charles I of Portugal (1863-1908)

    (7)  Charles I of Hungary (1288-1342)

Under the assumption you mean #2, the answer would be James, King of Scotland and son of Mary Queen of Scots. He is usually called James 6th of Scotland and James first of England, but under a new agreement if there is ever a new King of the United Kingdom named James he will assume the numbering James the 8th out of respect for the Scottish crown.

Charles I was executed by parliament. The present Queen's line of descent is through the older sister of Charles I, Elizabeth of Stuart.

  4. James 1 of England .............James V1 of Scotland

and his father was the child of Mary Queen of Scots and the heir of Elizabeth 1 of England

  5. James I

  6. Charles I was born in Fife on 19 November 1600, the second son of James VI of Scotland (from 1603 also James I of England) and Anne of Denmark.

He became heir to the throne on the death of his brother, Prince Henry, in 1612. He succeeded, as the second Stuart King of England, in 1625.

There is a short biography on him at http://www.royal.gov.uk/output/page76.as...
