Who is Charlie Manson?

I was on answers reading answers and someone mentioned he claimed to be Jesus. I tried googling him but it was all super long articles mostly about his victims. I just want a quick answer, who is he, why exactly is he in jail, and did he really claim to be Jesus?

He and a number of  his "family"  killed several people including the actress Sharon Tate.  The  book HELTER SKELTER WAS WRITTEN ABOUT THE MURDERS.  HELTER SKELTER IS THE TERM USED BY CHARLIE TO ROAM AROUND AND MURDER.  HIS IS A IN PRISON FOR LIFE IN CALIFORNIA.  =ONE OF HIS FOLLOWERS TRIED TO PRESIDENT FORD.  Does he claim to be Jesus, yes.  He wanted to start a race war with black against white and he and his followers would be the only ones left.

Charlie Manson is a mass murderer who claimed a lot of things, don't remember the Jesus claim, but he was a cult leader. He murdered the actress Sharon Tate who was nine months pregnant at the time  as well as a number of other people with his flea bitten hippie gang in august of 69. He called it Helter Skelter after the Beatle song. A few of his female followers have been on the news lately asking for clemency because they're ill..... didn't give Sharon Tate and her baby any clemency. Oh yeah Squeaky Fromme tried to assinate Gerald Ford and she just got parolled last year I think.  Probably too old now to be of any worry.

Apparently he gets the most mail of anyone in the california penal system,  people just as nuts as he is writing to him. Too bad California didn't stop the death penalty after doin away with Charlie and the girls.
