ho chi minh was one of many names used by the most successfull revolutionary in modern history. an interesting character and astute politician. he was once a cook and ended up bieng the "father" of his country[ called "bac ho" which is a revered term for older uncle, great uncle] he led the viet minh against the french enslavers, and then the north vietnamese and viet cong against the south vietnamese government and americans during what they now call the war for unification.... claimed to model himself a patriot in the sence of thomas jefferson, some call him a terrorist... in any case he got his people out from foreign control... although now it is now being sucked into onesided capitolism making it very difficult for the poor of viet nam to keep up.
