As to be Kapil Dev.

In early 1994, he became the highest Test wicket-taker in the world, breaking the record held by Sir Richard Hadlee. Kapil's record was broken by Courtney Walsh in 1999.

well there isn't a best there both good at different things in cricket Tendulker is good at test matches (staying there and leading India to a win) and Kapil Dev is good at scoring big scores but if you really want me to tell you India's best Cricketer here is the top ten

1. ANIL KUMBLE is a great bowler with good variation a consistanty he has taken the third most wickets in the world and the most in India.

2. KAPIL DEV has scored a good amount of runs for India and usem to bowl some beutiful off-spin.

3. VVS LAXMAN has scored very much and important runs for India.

Tied 4th. SACHIN TENDULKER and SOURAV GANGULY are both very very good batsman who have really peformed when India needed it.

6.MS DHONI has been a really good captain in place of rahul dravid and his batting and keeping has improved very fast.

7. Just missing out on fourth place RAHUL DRAVID has been a very good captain untill India's loss in the world cup agaisnt Bangladesh.

8. RP SINGH has been doing some really good bowling when India have needed it.

9. ISHANT SHARMA for being young he is a very good and consistant fast bowler

10. ROHIT SHARMA you can't forget he's also pretty young and his batting is getting better and better wait till he grows up he'll be the new Kapil Dev but for now lets put him in number 10 spot.
