during the reagan administration we began giving millions of hb1 visas to china and india to bring help into the US because american sucks at math and science

we were the first and only ones to use nuclear weapons against another country

we hate anyone who thinks different than we do

we allowed corporate american to outsource almost all american jobs to china and india and still give these corporations a tax break

we DO NOT BELIEVE that all americans should have an education, healthcare nor a job (because we have outsourced them).

the list is too long.

Of course there are things that make GLAD TO BE AN AMERICAN, but we have plenty of work to do.

by the way, the bible says PRIDE is a sin!

  1. well if our educators were more concerned about education rather then pushing their point of view of life on students, we wouldn't have this problem...

  2. The list of positive things this great nation has done and continues to do is much longer and overshadows any of our negatives.

    Now, to your list.

The U.S. is not bad because we used nuclear weapons.  We did it to end a long and bloody war.  Most all historians will tell you it likely saved millions of lives by ending the war quickly.

There may be individuals that hate but our nation doesn't.  We clearly think our way of life, our freedoms and our laws are superior otherwise we wouldn't have them and defend them.  We have many allies across the world.  We have people from all over the globe that aspire to come to our great nation and make a better life for themselves.  This isn't because we are bad or because we hate or because we are inferior.  This is because we are superior and we offer freedom that is not matched anywhere in the world.

Our nation has a free market economy.  The government does not control the means of production or decide how businesses operate.  If companies move out of the country it is to lower costs, avoid burdensome taxation, get away from overbearing regulation, etc.  There is nothing bad about this.  If it is good for the stockholders or owner(s) and allows the company to produce a product or service they can sell then that is good.  There are plenty of companies moving to the U.S. as well.  There is always movement in business.  The U.S. can lower taxation and regulation if there are worries about losing too much business.  These are the only things that will work.

Americans are not owed an education, healthcare or a job.  The great thing about our nation is that we are free to attain our goals and dreams because we have freedom and we do not have a government that controls every aspect of our lives.  The federal government has absolutely no reason to be involved in any of these areas.  Individual states may choose to get involved in these are if they so choose but there is no right for people to have these things and have them paid for by others.

The U.S. produces medicines & technologies that we share with the world.  The U.S. is always the first or one of the first nations helping other nations when they have natural disasters.  The U.S. gives billions in financial aid to other countries throughout the world to help with social, medical and economic issues.  The U.S. patrols shipping lanes across the globe to insure that goods freely move without interference from rogue governments or modern day pirates.  The U.S. has freed people from evil dictatorships since the early 1900's.  The U.S. helped win both world wars and prevented the world from being enslaved by German, Russian and Japanese regimes.

The list is so long of the great things the U.S. has accomplished and continues to.

    God Bless America.

  3. You are perfectly welcome to get on a plane and go anywhere you think is better and please do as soon as possible.

  4. Another fine example of public education.

  5. We've had at least 4 of our GREATEST Presidents warn against private banking sys taking control of our $$, standing armies and secrecy in Govt (JFK) and Govt itself (Reagan).

Anyone who can't see how our great Country has been negatively affected by these breaches should open their eyes and help keep this Country great.

  6. not me.

  7. I am not going to try and answer each item you list, but what I will say is that I am proud to live in a country where you can publish your hate speech and not be arrested or worse.  I do think that puts us in a selective group of countries that do believe in freedoms and is something to be proud of.  If you want to break your list down into separate questions, I am sure there are several people here who would be glad to explain why these things have happened.

PS. If you are going to quote the Bible, don't take it out of context.  It was not speaking about patriotic pride.

  8. 1. America doesn't do as well in math or science in part due to the "everyone is a winner" mentality of the Liberals (if you have not noticed, most public schools are run by the Libs.)

The grade requirements are lowered nearly every year in order to graduate students that clumsily string together words just like yours.

    2. We did nuke Japan twice, but again back to the education issue. Obviously you weren't taught that the Japanese government were warned well in advance of what was coming, and the Emperor refused to surrender until after the second bomb was delivered.

    3. That is just leftist propaganda. Good parrot, here's a cracker.

    4. Unemployment is at about 4.5%. That is a fact, not generalized broad brushing.

    5. This is getting ridiculous.

    6. Your list has lots of holes in it, and she is sinking fast!

">>Of course there are things that make GLAD TO BE AN AMERICAN<<"

Yet you didnt mention one positive thing, only negetive.

  9. The Bible says that pride is a sin, but I think it's wrong there.  It certain encourages rampant nationalism, and I think it's wrong there too.  But one of the Proverbs (or Psalms) says 'pride goeth before a fall', and I think it nailed that one right on.  Just look at us! 8^)

America is a place that takes good ideas to their ridiculous extremes. Capitalism, for instance, has been completely twisted and corrupted in America.  It started out as the idea that everyone's life could be improved if companies were allowed to operate for profit in a free market.  It ended up with  profit being the end in itself rather than the means to the end, with a spiral of concentration of wealth and power that corrupted the government to create oligopolies where free markets existed, and where most people have to be poorer so a few super-capitalists can get richer.  The purpose of health care is to maximize profits for a small number of leading insurance providers, not actually HEALTH.  The purpose of education is to keep most kids back so the kids of the rich don't have to compete for all the good management jobs, and to make money for companies that test students, like the one Neil Bush owns.

Our system is also completely blinded by the short term.  If we bring in foreigners, we can pay them less and we can make another billion dollars this  year.  Who cares what happens after that?  If we elect another Republican president we can get a $600 tax deferral this year (not a 'cut' because that money is still being spent, so you're going to pay it eventually with interest, in fact you'll pay it many times over).  But we just want that tax cut, we don't care what happens after that.

Nationalism is the way you anesthetize a population into not seeing what's going on around them.  Ronald Reagan had a great gift for this, for convincing people that we were balancing the budget by achieving unprecedented deficits, and that we were all getting richer by making 95% of us poorer.  In fact, in a way, the GOP's biggest problem today is that they're all out of Reagans. Both Bushes have tried to be Reagans but just weren't able to lie with such conviction. 8^)

  10. umm... no offence but America has become like an international joke. you guys are the most powerful nation on the planet but are also the most arrogant and the most self-centred.

The impression I think most Australians have of the USA is that you guys think your culture is better then those of the rest of the world and are generally ignorant of other cultures and ways of life. Im not talking a little bit ignorant. Im talking about having really no idea whatsoever.

Im not having a shot at america. Im just telling you how you are seen through our eyes; the way you come across in the media. Its unfortunate, because you guys have so many resources available and could be setting an example to the rest of the world about international relations and the sort of cultural intelligence that could be built with the resources you have at hand. Instead you seem to be engaged in the worst form of cultural narcissism where you are enamored by your own national-wonder and ignorant of everything else around you.

Yes your health care system is a tragedy.

Please understand Im not having a shot at 'americans' because there are obviously as many intelligent, thinking people in your country as anywhere else. Culturally, though, I think your country has a lot of growing up to do.

Good luck with your next administration, it wouldn't be hard for any new incumbent to me a massive improvement on your current one.

[edit] thanks very much to Inreality (below) for proving my point.

  11. Yes we have pride in our country, but we don't have to include our governments shenanigans.
