Who is Sandokhan?

I heard a song about him..Was he a gangster in jamaica?

Yes, he is an infamous gangster who was eventually gunned down by the police.  He had a habit of cross dressing as his disguise.

Wayne 'Sandokan' Smith, became public enemy number one after he masterminded and executed a brazen evening attack on the Olympic Gardens police station.

Three policemen were shot and killed during the attack and weapons and ammunition were stolen from the station armoury.

The incident caused national concern and police and soldiers launched a manhunt for Smith in Waterhouse, Tower Hill and other areas of Kingston where the gangster was believed to frequent.

Despite constant curfews and raids to nab the cop killer, police never got their hands on Sandokan as he was cut down by gunmen in Tower Hill in 1989.

Sandokan was definately a serious gangster in jamaica. I was a child when he was 'running hot' so i can just vaguely remember stories of him.

He was the type who carried UZi's or M-16's with him in any vehicle he would drive in, in addition to 45 and 50 calibre handguns, with tons of ammunition.

He reportedly feared nothing. He shot cops, soliders, innocent people, or anyone else who might get in his way, whether in robbery sprees or otherwise.  

He was gunned down by police in a vicious shoot-out.
