Who is Sen. Joe Biden, & is he running for president, too? If so, why so late?

I just keep hearing his name around. & I read on some news headline that Obama invited him to run against him. Did I misinterpret?

It's your birthday weekend...you are entitled to misinterpret anything you want.  Sen. Biden is Barrack Obama's pick as his Vice Presidential Candidate.  He is running against him, he is running with him.  Obama for President and Biden for Vice President.  Happy Birthday One Day Early!!!!

also likes to use other peoples words in speeches and enjoys

chairing Lynch mob type Senate hearings (i.e. Robert Bork)

other then that he is a nice guy

Yes you misinterpreted.  Obama chose Biden to be his VP running mate.  Biden has run for President in the past, but he is not running for that position in this campaign.
