There is a scam using the name of that bank; did the e-mail come from the bank's server or from a remailer or yahoo or hotmail? If it's an offer and the e-mail is not from firstcovenantbank directly, it's a scam for sure; and it 99% it is in any case.

George Thomas Coker (born July 14, 1943) is a retired US Navy commander, honored with the Navy Cross for his leadership as a prisoner of war (POW) during the Vietnam War, and a Distinguished Eagle Scout noted for his devotion to Scouting.

In 1966, the A-6 Intruder on which Coker was serving as bombardier–navigator was shot down over North Vietnam. He was held as a prisoner of war in the "Hanoi Hilton" and other camps for 6.5 years (1966–1973). After his release, he continued to serve in the Navy until his retirement in 1986. He also returned to active participation in Scouting.

WHy not yellow page the bank call them or email and find out for yourself... If it is about money you won or he has in a dead persons account or lottery winnings it is an old scam.

There is a First Covenant Bank in Georgia, US. There isn't one in Manchester that I can find. I suspect that this is yet another phishing scam which is trying to obtain your banking and personal details so that they can steal money from you.

Manchester is NOT in London ... it is a large city in the north of England. You will find lots of inconsistencies like that in such letters. Everything is made up to look convincing but the people who do these things are not very intelligent or good at English usually.
