You are talking about the undisputed heavy weight title, that's when a boxer holds all the major titles together at the same time we haven t had that since Lennox lewis, right now the heavyweight titles are shared between different fighters and none of them seems willing to go ahead and unify the title.

Wladimir klischko holds two major titles the IBF and the WBO heavyweight titles as well the insignificant IBO title

Ruslan Chagaev Holds the WBA title

Samuel Peter Holds the WBC heavyweight title.

Right now Klischko holds two of the major titles, if he fights and beats Peter (neither one of them seems ready to make this fight happen) and wins the WBC title he would be recognized as the undisputed heavy weight champion however keep in mind that Ali's time, there were only two major sanctioning bodies and in Tyson's time there were only three major bodies, right now we have four and thus a legitimate champ would have to hold all four titles at once.

well there are differentboxing organizations... thw ibf, wbc wbo.. and others.. and all of them havetitles.... right now I know one of the Klitchko brothers holds a belt... and Ithink Oleg Maskev has a belt.... u can check on espn.com/boxing to see the champs.........

There is no one right now that holds that title.  The title that you speak of is the linear and true heavyweight championship of the world.  Currently, there are three titlists out there, but not a true champion:

IBF and WBO- Wladimir Klitschko- considered the best.

WBC- Samuel Peter

WBA- Ruslan Chagaev

The last person to hold the linear and true title was Lennox Lewis, and in order for the vacancy to be filled, the number 1 and number 2 contenders must fight each other.  Right now, Wladimir Klitschko is considered the best and is ranked number 1.  Samuel Peter is ranked number 2.  They have fought once before and Klitschko won a decision, but the circumstances have changed, and if the two were to meet today, it would have the utmost significance because the winner of Klitschko-Peter 2 would give us the first linear and true heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis retired...  Here's hoping that the match gets made.
