Who is Tamino?

Clearly he is intelligent and has quite a bit of experience with data analysis. He even lets on that he has several papers in peer reviewed journals, but who is he?

All he lets on is that he's a mathematician.

He probably remains anonymous so that people will consider his arguments rather than engaging in ad hominem attacks (i.e. with James Hansen).

Tamino remaining anonymous is no stranger than "Michael Asher" at Daily Tech.  He is just as anonymous as Tamino since it's a relatively common name and there is no biography for him online.

edit:  And of course, the other main difference is Tamino is demonstrably correct, whereas Asher is at best disingenuous when he isn't flat out lying.  So I can see why Tamino bugs you.

He keeps his identify anonymous for some unknown reason (there can be a variety of reasons to separate one's professional life from their Internet hobby).
