By me, They're close to being equaly as talented. I think if Dale Jr. started his career with a HMS or a JGR team he would have accomplished just as much as Jimmie. Look at what Jeff and Jimmie both have done at Hendrick. Now who has came close to doing what Dale Jr. has done at DEI?? Nobody- I think Dale Jr. made the equipment look better than what it actually was at DEI and if Jimmie were at DEI he would have done the same, but I don't see him making it look any better with Dales crew chief and everything else being the same.

As much as I hate to say this ( and I only hate to say it because my sister is a die hard JJ fan and I go for Kasey Kahne)  JJ is one of the best drivers out there.  The stats say it all.  I do like Jr, but hes got some winning to do before Ill call him one of the best.

To be honest, I think Jimmie is the better driver, even though Dale Jr is ahead of him in the points.  Both of them are good drivers, but I think Jimmie has the edge.

I personally think they are both good drivers.

I live in a Dale Earnhardt Jr. FAN house...Hardcore!

But...I don't think it has anything to do with being a BETTER driver. A lot of things can go wrong in Nascar.....and depending on how many pit-stops they need to make and crashes. I mean just a few races ago...Jr. was pretty much on fumes and won the race. But if he went to pit or ran out of gas..He wouldn't have won ( I am pretty sure it was Jr.)

I think Jimmie Johnson is good also....I think they have both won an even amount of races probably in the long run.

I basically think it is the Luck Of The Draw for the More Experienced Drivers!!

Jimmie, hands down.  He's had a slow start this season,  but in the end, the cup will go to Rowdy, Carl, or Jimmie.  Those three are the strongest drivers out there, by far.

Based on career it would have to be Jimmie Johnson but lets not forget that Junior has just gotten into the elite equipment that #24 & #48 have had their entire NASCAR careers........At this point "this season" the numbers do not lie....Jr is doing a better overall job.

We will just have to wait and see how it all plays out 16 races from now.

Here is another thought.............Chad Knauss is without a doubt one of the best crew chiefs in the business and Jr is doing better with Eury Jr.....................Hmmmmmmm

You know they both really are great drivers. I think that Jimmie is extremely lucky to have the crew chief that he has. Not saying that Jr's is bad but I just dont think he makes as good of calls as Jimmies crew chief. So I guess I would pick Jimmie as a better driver

Jimmie definitely has the better crew chief.  

Now as far as driver....Jr hands down.

edit: Get over yourself people.  Jimmie has had FAR superior equipment in his career, especially the last 2-3 years.  And even when DEI was in their prime, nobody in their right mind would say they were stronger than Hendrick cars.  The real shame here is now that Jr wasted MOST of his prime years at DEI, he probably will never be able to put up Johnson and/or Gordon like numbers...but it's all good.  Let's compare their numbers so far this season....in the SAME equipment.  

How about for one time in your lives you compare apples to apples and not apples to oranges.

Jimmie: 35 wins since 2002. Twice as many as Jr. without even being in Cup as long.

Jimmie: 2 championships. Never finished below 5th in the standings.

Dale Jr.: Older than Jimmie, been in cup longer, still no championships. Has finished outside the top 10 in points 3 times I believe.
