  1. Any Government personnel who is holding an office.


  2. "Class I" government employees. Usually the manager and supervisor in govt establishments. They have almost the same powers as that of a Notary or an SEM. They can authencate documents and other such things.  

  3. Government Doctors, Deffence officers, IAS officers, Polive Officers and other senior government officers are in high position.

  5. 1. Go to the nearest Court or Judiciary building.

    2. There outside you will see many people sitting with boards saying: "Notary".

    3. These people can get your documents attested etc.. as far as i know (if they themselves dont attest, they will know myriad gazetted officers who can do it). They will charge a small fee, and do it without much fuss.

    This is the easiest thing to do, unless you are privileged to have your parents, relatives in top government posts.

    OR

    Visit a government hospital get hold of a doctor, and request him to sign. Oh well...

    Unfortunately, the complete system in India is made for the benefit of Government Employees and Clerks.. ordinary citizens go to h**l.

  6. Is a government servant with a specific higher salary and also head of some section. His name is published in the Govt. Gazette. Generally his services are used in attestation of documents. ( Ofcourse, his main duty is not attestation but governing a section/office/institution!!r  

  7. All A,B, C officers in India Government service and in State government service also any officer scale 1 and above in Union Government owned banks who's name is notified in the Gazette extraordinaire by the respective governments is termed as gazetted officers.

    In police : officers from Inspector and above but for Passport related issues SP and above, DC IT etc.

    In Army: Lieutenant and above commissioned officers in Triservices.
