I don't think anyone will be running against Obama in 2012 for the presidency of the Obama fan club. Obama will be the president and only member.

Newt Gingrich; He's popular amongst conservatives and was smart enough to stay out this year so he doesn't end up looking like a loser. He's also the conservative hero who won big in the midterms against Bill Clinton, that previous popular Democratic candidate. Conservatives remember that with love.

He would do such a terrible job as president that virtually any candidate would beat him.  For now you should just worry about him holding on to the democrat nomination through the DNC.
