Honestly, I think it's a tie between the two because most people are familiar with both equally, most people can probably tell you one or two of their movies, who they're married too, etc. Tom Cruise is now famous for being a crazy Scientologist who has probably ruined his acting career and Brad Pitt is famous for being a 90s pretty boy who is now married too Angelina Jolie and obsessed with having a gazillion children and most people know that.
