  1. not me..

  2. I'm only barefoot inside my home.  We all take our shoes off at the door so we keep the carpets clean.

Why is this an etiquette question?

  3. I am I hate to wear shoes and I am barefoot as much as I can be

  4. Me!!!

It is bare feet the whole way unless weather (only snow) stops me

or some mean rule prevents me from going barefoot.

I'm always barefoot in the following situations

    At home

    At work

    In the car

    At a friend's house

    Outside in general

I am not barefoot in the following situations

When it is unsafe to do so

Spending longer than five minutes in the snow

When there is a rule preventing me

  5. I always barefoot, I am good for 20 to 30 min. in the snow, and always like walking in the rain.  When it rains then there should be mud near by which I love.

  6. I'm barefoot all the time.  I'm not sure there are many places that rules really prevent it.  I take into account all of the factors.  Some of those do include how comfortable I am, and how comfortable my wife might be.  I do push the limits, and she doesn't give me a problem with that.

Now, I don't go barefoot when it's snowing and really really cold, but I've been known to be in a store or someplace barefoot even when it's in the 40's (f).

I just got back from vacation where I was completely barefoot for 11 days, that included flying on airplanes and going through airports.

    Barefoot TEX

  7. I've been barefoot for eleven years, haven't run into either of these exceptions for years. I live in a pretty moderate climate, while we do get some snow and I still carry backup footwear when it's freezing just in case I get stranded somewhere, I haven't needed to wear it for even a minute in five or six years, and only a few times very briefly in the years before that. Summers don't get so hot that the pavement is a problem either.

As for rules, there are few of those in my country. Really only some places like construction sites & factories and such require safety footwear, and since I don't work in those I have no business there (actually, they're generally off-limits to non-authorized personnel in the first place, regardless of footwear) (and I have been at one construction site barefoot when we did a PR event with the prehistoric crew from work, in prehistoric clothing, including bare feet. But apart from the ritual 'first stone' no construction was taking place while we were there, and many of the visitors were in heels and other non-regulation footwear too). I'm sure there are some other specific jobs and places that require shoes but if you don't work at those, there aren't any footwear rules for customers and in public/semi-public places. The public transport companies don't have footwear rules, and it's extremely rare to encounter a store, restaurant or other business with a dress code requiring shoes. I've never even SEEN a 'no shoes, no shirts, no service' sign here in the Netherlands, nor on my trips to Belgium and Scotland, and only once been told to leave -by a non-European manager. So depending on your job you can go for years, decades even, never encountering a rule forbidding bare feet.

Btw, even in the US, while it is far more common for stores to have such dress codes, any signs that claim 'shoes required by the Health Department' are false. See source!

  8. me

    i am a barefoot person

i usually leave some socks and shoes in the car, so if i end up going somewhere that i need them, i can just slip them on.

i would be barefoot all the time if i could.

    unless it was really cold.

  9. Me!! I love being in the rain barefoot sometimes I walk my dog and it's raining I don't wear shoes..I don't wear them unless I go inside a store. I'm always barefoot at home.
