  1. Ancient Greek imagination

  2. me

  3. all the other god and goddesses...they were quite incestful

  4. WAR

  5. Zeus gave birth to her by opening his head, so Zues is dad , Ares is brother... yada yada

  6. Zeus was her dad. Hercules was her half brother. She had a lot relatives. Idols always do.

  7. The Greek goddess Athena is said to be the offspring of Zeus alone, but that was only after the Oceanid Metis became pregant and Zeus swallowed her. By swallowing the Oceanid and her unborn child, Zeus became pregnant with Athena. Zeus wasn't built to deliver a baby, and he seems to have gestated the baby in his head. The solution: Hephaestus (or Prometheus) struck open Zeus' head with an axe to release the goddess Athena, who emerged from her father's head fully armed.

  8. Here's the family tree for Athena, best as I can remember.

Her father is Zeus, and her mother, whom Zeus swallows while she was pregnant with Athena, is Metis, who was a Titaness. Metis was a sister of Kronos and therefore also Zeus's aunt. Kronos and Rhea are the parents of Zeus, and also brother and sister, along with Coeus, Phoebe (who married each other), Tethys, and Oceanus (who married each other).

Athena's aunts and uncles on her father's side would be Hestia, Hades, Poseidon, Hera, and Demeter. Here is also Athena's step-mother, as is Demeter, as Zeus was married to both.

Some of Athena's many siblings/cousins would include Ares, Hebe, Hephaestus (just a step-brother, as Hera gave birth to him asexually), Persephone (by Demeter), Apollo and Artemis (by the Zeus/Leto relationship), Hermes (by Zeus's marriage to Maia), And Aphrodite, by Zeus' marriage to Dione (though Aphrodite is usually said to be born of sea foam).

And then there are her demi-god siblings, including Heracles (the correct Greek name for Hercules), the Charities/Graces, The Muses, the Horae (seasons), the Morae (Fates), Amphion, Zethus, Arcas, Perseus, Aeacus, Tantalus, and Dionysus, just to name a few.

She also has cousins who are not siblings. They are all Titans. Their names are Leto (one of her step-mothers), Iapetus, Prometheus, Epimetheus, Atlas, Maia (another step-mother), and Dione (yet another step-mother if you believe that Dione and Zeus are the parents of Aphrodite).

As has already been pointed out, yes, the Greek gods were very incestuous.

There are also some neices and nephews, such as Harmonia, the daughter of Ares and Aphrodite.

  9. She is Zeus' daughter

  10. antenna the cable provider

  11. Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, war, the arts, industry, justice and skill. She was the favorite child of Zeus. She had sprung fully grown out of her father's head. Her mother was Metis, goddess of wisdom and Zeus' first wife. In fear that Metis would bear a son mightier than himself. Zeus swallowed her and she began to make a robe and helmet for her daughter. The hammering of the helmet caused Zeus great pain in the form of headaches and he cried out in agony. Skilled Hephaestus ran to his father and split his skull open and from it emerged Athena, fully grown and wearing her mother's robe and helmet. She is the virgin mother of Erichthnonius.

Athena and her uncle Poseidon were both very fond of a certain city in Greece. Both of them claimed the city and it was decided that the one that could give the finest gift should have it. Leading a procession of citizens, the two gods mounted the Acropolis. Poseidon struck the side of the cliff with his trident and a spring welled up. The people marveled, but the water was as salty as Poseidon's sea and it was not very useful. Athena's gift was an olive tree, which was better because it gave the people food, oil and wood. Athena named her city Athens.

Athena's companion was the goddess of victory, Nike, and her usual attribute is the owl. Athena possessed the Aegis.

  12. Zeus's daughter. Has a soft spot for Odisea, or Ulysses, whichever his name really is...

  13. The Pantheon of gods!

  14. She's considered the daughter of Zeus.  She sprang fully formed from his head.  So shes not technically related to anyone although Zeus considers her to be one of his children.  She is the goddess of wisdom.

  15. She is Zeus's daughter.
