Zahiruddin Mohammed "Baber", was  the King of Ferghana (in Turkistan in central Asia) was agret conqueror and founder of Moghul Empire(1521).

He was the first to make use of "canon" in the battle,He bulit many gardens in diverse places in India.He was the pioneer in matching the native Rajput architecture with midlemeastern architecture.

When he was told that the majority of the Hindu citizens revered the "cow', he issued an edict banning slaughter of cows in public!

His spirit of religious tolerance made Gurunanak Sahib to bless him!

His first son, Humayun, was on death-bed, he prayed to Gd to take his own lifeinstead of Humayun's!He died and was buried in a nice garden in Kabul.

Baber is derived from the word "Babber", which means lion!
