iPhone is league apart from iphone, Features wise Nokia 96 is a clear winner, but touch experience of iphone, brilliant screen and flaunting value of iphone is much better.

So,

Feature wise : N96 winner

Flaunting wise : iPhone 3G winner

And yes no phone can beat the iphone internet browsing experience.

I think that the IPhone 3G is better because you get a touchscreen and a virtual QWERTY keyboard to text on.  On the Nokia N96 you don't get a touchscreen nor a QWERTY keyboard.  The IPhone has a 3.5 inch touchscreen which the Nokia N96 has a 2.8 inch screen.

I cant believe this is a question. Youre comparing a smartphone.. to well.. whatever that thing is the apple fanboys love.

If you want a similar experience to using the iphone, go out to your cars gps and start to type. This exactly what using the iphones screen is like. The iphone, unlike most touchscreen phones, lacks haptic feedback (vibration when a key is pressed). Imagine typing a text without pressing the keys, simply lay your finger on the key, and hope that it takes.

A keypad with tactical feedback (the physical depress of a button) will always be superior to touchscreen devices.

next, the iphone has predicitive text that cannot be turned off, so you must pay full attention to what your typing, or you get things like "Well I am going to the perfect tomorrow, you want to go?"

better multimedia player. plays avi, wmv, wma whereas the iphone doesnt play any of those

better bluetooth. you can send/receive files over bluetooth, you can hook it up to your car stereo or home computer

you can actually send pictures to friends through text

voice dialing-say the persons name and it will call them

I have the Iphone 3g but the Nokia n96 has way more features

but the iphone is prettier and the interface is way bettter than the n96
