Who is better John Elway or Peyton Manning?

John Elway - Peyton is good but he struggled a little when Marvin went down. John carried three mediocre teams to the Super Bowl in the 80's.

John Elway, he's been to more super bowls, won more, and he's had such an impact on the way modern QB's play.  I think Manning may get one more super bowl, but when you've been to as many super bowls, played many great games as Elway has, its hard not to give him his dues..

At this very moment, Peyton Manning, since Elway has been retired for a long time.  If Elway was still playing I'd have to say Elway.  He was money in the bank.

They are similar in certain ways, They both were good qb's for their career but choked when coming to the playoffs, A SB came in the last 2 years of Elway's career he was 2-5 in superbowls and it took a while for Peyton to get his first but Peyton's career isn't over so I cant say just yet but as of now: Elway is the best, but who knows Peyton might end up breaking Favre's records at the end of his career and be the best ever, we'll just have to wait and see

Hands down Elway right now.  Manning still has many years left under his belt though, so ask the same question 10 years from now.  Elway did have great receivers and a backfield like no other.  The other Super Bowls Elway played in could have been won providing their defense played better.

He put 4 marginally talented teams on his back and took them to the super bowl. When he finally got the kind of quality receivers and running back that Manning takes for granted, he won two straight super bowls (when he was past his prime by the way.) Elway was the total package: legendary arm strenghth, tremendous accuracy and decision making AND the wheels and wits to improvise when things broke down. When's the last time you saw Manning scramble for a 3rd down conversion. And, lest we forget, he was king of the 4th quarter comeback.

Manning is great and clearly one of the best ever, but he loses in comparison to, in my opinion, THE best ever.

They are both noted for their come from behind game winning drives.

This is tough because John Elway did not win a superbowl until the end of his career when he was surrounded by talent.  Peyton won one superbowl, and his career still needs to be played out.  Overall, I think Peyton is the more complete quarterback, and has an intelligence rarely seen on the field.

Elway He can still play Football without getting Hurt, Payton just had Off Season Surgery, and the Hall of Famer has 2 Super Bowl Rings, The Future One Needs One More, otherwise the Colts will be labeled as Peyton's Team, and The Broncos are labeled today has The Team Led by #7 and they had Terrell Davis too so their was more to Broncos then Just Elway he was the Star Attraction in Denver, Huge Difference.

John Elway. While Peyton is great and is a future HOF- John Elway led some of the best comebacks and is one of the best talents ever. He is a top 3 QB of all time. He played in more Superbowls than All the Mannings, Dan Marino, and Brett Favre combined. It is not a knock on Peyton but John Elway was a once in a lifetime QB.

Elway hands down.  Peyton is a good QB, better than most, but taken in a total career sense, Elway hands down.

John Elway. He did alot more with alot less. He made a huge impact on the Broncos when he was playing, and took them where they needed to be. Peyton Manning is a great QB, but he does struggle alot, the likelyhood of him every topping Elway is very slim.
