  1. Rauch has little value now that he is a setup man. Unless Street gets traded and is no longer a closer you have got a no brainer.

  2. Depends on how you look at it....

I believe Rauch to be the better overall pitcher in general. He is more consistant than Street and has a lot more velocity to his pitches.

On to reasons for why people might pick who.

Most people of course would probably pick Street over Rauch in a fantasy league because Saves is a catagory in EVERY fantasy league. Rauch lost that ability when he got traded away.

If you are playing in a league like the one I am in then a a good amount of people would take Rauch over Street. In my league Holds is a catagory and a GREAT set up man is just as valuable as a middle tier closer in leagues with Holds in them.

Rauch as well has more upside to him though. He is right behind Lyon who overall isnt doing that great. Arizona knows that Rauch is a very good K guy who just proved this year in Washington that he can be a consistant closer in the MLB. Don't be surprised if he takes over the closing job in Arizona next year.

In conclusion if you are in a default league or a custom league that does not have "holds" as a catagory then Street is the better pick. If "holds" is a catagory in your league then Rauch would be better. Also, if you do have holds in your league then you would have think about which would help your team more over who is "better". If you have 1 closer and 2 holds guys then you take Street. If you had 2 closers and a 1 holds guy then you pick Rauch.

    Hope that helps!

  3. Street even if he is traded

  4. racuh = se tup man = no saves = bad

  5. I think Jon Rauch is a better relief pitcher overall. He has a wicked fastball and his ERA is under three whereas Huston Street's ERA is over 4.Nonetheless, Huston Street is a very good relief pitcher (and his ERA is almost sure to get substantially lower).

Keep in mind that Huston Street is a closer whereas Jon Rauch is only a set-up man so if your fantasy league does not give you much of a benefit for the "holds" stat then you should definitely go with Street because he will get you the saves whereas Rauch won't.

So in the end if you get a lot of points for saves then Street. But if you get a good benefit for having a set-up guy, then go with Rauch because he is a better pitcher.

  6. rauch = bad  street = good
