Walter Peyton. Other than touchdowns he is statistically better than LT. And he played when the defence could tackle any way they wanted. The rules have changed to the offensive favor in LT's era.

depends on how you look at this...if it's better running back it's payton...if it's better overall player then tomlinson definitely gets the edge as he shows he's the nfl's best rusher as well as a surprisingly strong passer and reciever
