  1. Good question.  I am not sure that we have seen the best from Anderson Silva yet.  Nobody has really pushed him to those limits.  Cung Le I think Shamrock was on his way to doing it when he got stopped and he brings a greater number of fights and longer career as far as stand up goes and I think he is the better kicker.  Beyond that both are awesome fighters and that would be a dream match-up I think.

  2. I think spider silve wins this one, can't imagine cung le beating silva in a mma match.

  3. good question deserves a star, this would be an awesome match, but i am inclined to say anderson just as ive seen alot more of him then then le, though le is an awesome fighter. yeah only reason i'll say anderson is coz ive seen more of his fights!

  4. silva is better at everything

  5. we havent seen everything they can do yet.

so far cung looks to be the better kicker and wrestler,

but we know silva is bjj black belt and is also good at punching.

hard to say at this point..

over all i am going to say cung le is better, but i need to see more from each fighter. then vs each other would be interesting.

  6. it's just a matter of time before silva finds his match. he is d**n good, but so is cung le.

i dont know if cung is ready yet for the environment. he needs more experience.

id like to see them fight now...then fight again later to see how much cung improves

    very good question.

  7. No disrespect to Cung Le who is an excellent fighter.  However, Anderson Silva is a world class mixed martial artist who is WIDELY considered to be the #1 pound for pound fighter in the world.

Anderson Silva has NO weakness.  Not his ground, his striking, his speed, his toughness, his experience, his strength, his age, his attitude.  Nothing.

Anderson Silva wins this match up hands down.

  8. Well lets see................

Cung is older than Silva by 3 years, yet Silva has been in 26 MMA fights and Cung has only been in 6. Silva is the more experianced of the two.

Silva has lost 4 times and Cung has never lost.

Silva fights and beats many world class fighters at their own game. He out grappled Nate Marquardt and submitted Travis Lutter who is  known mainly for his BJJ skills.

Silva has KO'd his opponents with kicks, punches, knees and elbows (watch the Tony Fryklund fight). This shows he is very versatile and can end a fight at any moment.

Silva has faced tougher competition such as Dan Henderson and Rich Franklin and has faught all over the world. He has cleaned out his weight division with no fights leaving the 2nd round and had to move up a weight division to get some competition.

Cung hasnt faced any top fighters other than Frank Shamrock. I would say Cung has the better kicks but thats about it. Silva has much more tools in his arsenal than Cung. Silva's stand up is much better than Cungs and if the fight goes to the ground, Silva has his BJJ black belt.

Overall Silva is the better fighter. Cung Le isnt even a top 10 middleweight. I think Silva needs to fight GSP as GSP is the only other fighter as well rounded and with as much skill as Silva.

  9. Anderson Silva has much better boxing -- both in terms of defense and offense. He lands and he takes few hits. Cung Le, on the other hand, has mediocre hands nand is pretty hittable.

Cung Le has better kicking, but not by too much. While Cung has a much more versatile arsenal at his disposal, he's doesn't set them up or string them together with his other strikes. Anderson, on the other hand, seamlessly weaves all of his striking tools together into his ludicrously dangerous game. Cung Le has better individual kicks, but it's arguable that Anderson applies his kicks more efficiently in the grand scheme of things.

Overall, Anderson is considerably better at striking. His footwork, angles, precision, timing, and combinations are at a higher tier than Le's.

As a wrestler, Le is better. Not only has he actually wrestled, but he's a very talented San Shou practitioner (a kickboxing style, in which takedowns are employed alongside strikes). So far his takedown defense has been on point and his own takedowns have been effective. However, he hasn't fought anybody with the same quality of wrestling as Anderson's opponents, despite his greater success.

On the other hand, though rare that Anderson initiates a takedown, he's been relatively successful with them. For instance, his fights against Murray, Stout, and Marquardt. Still, not at Cung Le's level.

As a groundfighter, it's gotta be Silva. Le has never been to the ground, hence he can't possibly match Anderson's experience there. Plus, there's no way that he's developed jiujitsu skills that are the equivalent of a Nogueira blackbelt's within the short time that Cung has been practicing MMA. Anderson has a mean top game too.

Overall fighter, Anderson without a doubt. He'd win in a match between the two as well.
