I think Sachin is better than Ponting because he play the match for the country and he played the match like a match winner.

Ponting is better. Sachin is past his prime. Ponting has been best test batsmen for months and lust got placed down down to fifth. Ponting is also a great captain, his and the Australians test record for 16 matches undefeted prove that.

Sachin tendulkar is the way better than Ricky Ponting. Punter is a remarkable player no doubt, but the Little Master is a pure genious. No one can ever reach his standard. But Ponting is definitelt better than Sachin in terms of captaincy. Sachin wasn't a successful captain at all, but Ponting is the one of the most successful skippers of Australia, and also of the world.

Both are great players however I believe that tendulkar is simply on a whole different level to ponting. In his career he has achieved so much and holds many records (not to take away from ponting though as he is also a great cricketer)
