  1. Seattle is the biggest underachiever by far! Detroit is still in the hunt, and Cleveland is atleast respectable, sure they were expected to be a lot better, but Seattle has falling off the face of the earth!

I love Andruw Jones, he really should have stayed in Atlanta. With saying that I think it's a toss up between him and Zito. Andruw is the worst waste of money for a position player, and Zito likewise for a pitcher.

Take a close look at both of their best seasons!

    Andruw Jones 2008: 20 runs, 2 hrs, 12 rbis, .166 avg

    Andruw Jones 2005: 95 runs, 51 hrs, 128 rbis, .263 avg

It really breaks my heart...I still love him tho...maybe he can bounce back next season

Heres a closer look at Zito's troubles!

    Barry Zito 2008: 5.80 era, 5-13, 71 so

    Barry Zito 2002: 2.75 era, 23-5, 182 so

WoW! Thats all I can say! You make the choice!

  2. The Tiggers. They are always below there pythagorg. Cleveland was way below their pythagorg in 2006 but exceeded in in 2007. They are below it now. The Mariners are not a surprise. They really overachieved last year and this year must pay for last year's success.

  3. Detroit. I picked them to win the World Series.

  4. without question detroit...they were supposed to have a huge season, and they looked like a lock in for the world series on paper....but now they suck

  5. you

  6. Detroit is the biggest underacheiver considering they were world series favorites. Andrew Jones is a bigger waste of money because he was coming off a bad year and he still got that money. What a bad decision by the Dodgers to pay someone who had a bad year. People say he's come out overweight and not motivated. At least Zito is trying and he kind of has gotten it sort of back on track. So look for Zito to be better next season but Jones doesn't look good at all. Who will take his huge contract the Dodgers will probably have to pay someone to absorb his contract he is literally untradeable.

  7. i say cleveland. they are on pace for a 70 win season after winning 96 last year and having the best record in baseball.

barry on the other question- becuase he's paid more, and at least jones can field. he's still the 2nd most overpaid player in baseball though.

  8. I wouldnt say Clevland anymore simply because they now dont have CC Sabathia and they have had a hurt Hafner all year long and Victor Martinez have missed some time as well.  Cliff Lee have shouldered a lotta slack and so have Grady Sizemore.

Teams have underachieved have mainly been Seattle.  After have a not bad year last year you would expect them to make some noise this year.  But Bedard have been on the DL on and off.  Hey atleast they got one thing accomplished---getting rid of Sexson.

Another team that have struggled under the radar have been the Astros.  They aquired a solid closer in Valverde during the offseason and an all star shortstop in Tejada.  Berkman have had a huge year and so have carlos lee. BUt here they are 12.5 games outta first.

As for overpaid players, Jones and Zito defiently are top of the mountain.  Hafner is beginning to look like an overpaid player now considering is sub-par year last year and his failure to return back to form this year.

I dont think anyone would be winning to trade for Jones.  He mite be simply an anchor on the Dodgers' ship rite now.

  9. The Mariners because its a disappointing season for them.

  10. Detroit and jones

  11. Cleveland....They were a game away from going to the World Series and potentially winning it. But this season, they have been in last place. Not even making a run at a wild card.

  12. Detroit, Jones, and they'd trade him in a second if anybody would take him

  13. Cleveland,

Cleveland had so much potential in the beggining of the season great starting pitching and hitting.

They were just one game away from The World Series last year.

The Indians are the biggest under achievers this year.

Detroit in my opinion isn't under achieving,

Detroit just doesn't have the pitching they have some great hitting but the pitching just isn't there.

Seattle I don't even know what the h**l..

  14. 1. Seattle

    2. Carl Pavano

    3. Barry Zito

    4. Yes
